'If you educate a woman, you educate a nation.’ (African saying)
Because of circumstances, my mother was not able to receive education as a child. But she had never given up on her dream of learning. At the age of 40, she learned to read and write. She was so proud, and so were we. She taught my siblings and me the value of education and that it was never too late to learn. To her, education was equal to a good job and economic independence. And this would enable you in making your own choices.
Admirable considering this was a woman who had never had the chance to get an education, but who had the wisdom to understand the value of education.
We also believe that education is important. For boys and girls. For young and old. In order to contribute to the education of girls and young women in particular, we support foundations in Turkey and we donate for each rug € 10,00 to foundations among which Türkiye Eğitim Gönüllüleri Vakfı (Education Volunteers Foundation Turkey). By doing so, we hope to increase the chances of children in their lives.
We believe: if we want to make the underprivileged privileged, than we have to offer them opportunities.
